Sir Paul McCartney has today given his backing to STAND TOGETHER – a charity choir album featuring Britain’s Got Talent 2017 finalists the Missing People Choir, the NHS Choir and nine other ‘Choirs With Purpose’ by giving them his blessing to re-record his classic song We All Stand Together as the album’s Christmas single.
STAND TOGETHER by Choirs With Purpose is an album of uplifting cover songs by singing groups who sing for an important reason – to share their personal messages of hope after loss, and the power and spirit of community.
The Missing People Choir will join the Parrs Wood High School Harmony Group who sang with Ariana Grande at One Love Manchester, the newly formed UK Hospices Choir, the Games Maker Choir who opened the IAAF World Athletics Championships 2017 on Friday, and the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir who hit the number 1 spot at Christmas 2015.
The album will be released on December 15th 2017 but is available for pre-order now via pledgemusic.com/projects/choirswithpurpose. All profits from sales of the album will be divided equally between the ten choirs involved, or their nominated charities.
James Hawkins, producer of STAND TOGETHER said, We All Stand Together is the perfect song to bring together all the different choirs featuring on the album. The message ‘one thing is certain we’ll never give in’ resonates with every group, and we are so excited to be bringing this classic song to a whole new generation.”
The choirs performing on the album include: The Parrs Wood High School Harmony Group, the Missing People Choir, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir, Maggie’s Cancer Centre (West London) Choir, Games Maker Choir, UK Hospices Choir, Daniel Spargo-Mabbs Foundation Choir for Drug Awareness, Homelink Carers Choir and the Anstee Bridge Choir.
